Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord

The Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, celebrated on August 6th, commemorates the event described in the Gospels when Jesus Christ revealed His divine glory to Peter, James, and John on Mount Tabor. During the Transfiguration, Jesus’ face shone like the sun, and His clothes became dazzling white. Moses and Elijah appeared alongside Him, representing the Law and the Prophets. The Transfiguration affirmed Jesus’ identity as the Son of God and provided a glimpse of His heavenly glory. The feast serves as a reminder of the divinity of Christ and the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. It is a celebration of light, revelation, and the transformative power of encountering God’s glory. The Transfiguration invites believers to seek deeper intimacy with Christ and to be transformed by His divine presence in their lives.
