St. Aspren of Naples

Saint Aspren of Naples was an early Christian martyr who lived during the 1st century. He was a disciple of the apostle Peter and became the first bishop of Naples, Italy. Aspren preached the Gospel and converted many to the Christian faith. His ministry was marked by acts of charity and his commitment to the teachings of Christ. Saint Aspren was eventually arrested and subjected to torture for his refusal to renounce his faith. He faced various forms of persecution, including being thrown into a fiery furnace, but miraculously survived. Despite the miraculous interventions, Aspren was ultimately beheaded for his unwavering commitment to Christ. Saint Aspren is venerated as a martyr and his feast day is celebrated on August 3rd. He is remembered for his courage, faithfulness, and his role in establishing the Christian community in Naples.
