Saint Christina of Bolsena was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century. She was born into a noble family in Tyre, modern-day Lebanon. Christina converted to Christianity at a young age and faced persecution for her faith. She was subjected to various tortures, including being thrown into a lake with a millstone tied around her neck, but miraculously survived. The saint continued to profess her faith boldly, leading to her eventual martyrdom by beheading. Saint Christina is venerated as a patroness of archers, mariners and millers. Her relics are enshrined in the Basilica of Saint Christina in Bolsena, Italy, and she is celebrated on July 24th, the anniversary of her martyrdom. She is remembered for her unwavering faith, courage, and steadfastness in the face of persecution.
