St. Godfrey of Amiens

St. Godfrey of Amiens (1066–1115), was a bishop of Amiens, France, in the late 11th and early 12th centuries. Born into nobility, he chose a life of religious service and became renowned for his deep piety, asceticism, and dedication to the poor. Rejecting the luxuries typically associated with his position, he used the church’s resources to aid the needy and fund charitable projects. He was also known for promoting clerical reform and opposing simony. After his death in 1115, he was canonized for his exemplary life, and his feast day is observed on November 8th.
