St. Philip Benizi

Saint Philip Benizi (August 15, 1233 – August 22, 1285), was an Italian Servite friar known for his piety and devotion to the Virgin Mary. He played a significant role in spreading the Servite Order, an order dedicated to a life of poverty, penance, and service to the Virgin Mary. Philip was a gifted preacher and healer, and his fame for miracles and prophecies attracted numerous followers. He served as the general of the Servite Order and worked to promote unity and discipline within the community. Saint Philip Benizi’s feast day is celebrated on August 23rd, and he is venerated as the patron saint of those seeking forgiveness and reconciliation. He is remembered for his selflessness, humility, and his dedication to a life of prayer and service to God.
